I have always had a love for music, and been passionate about the performing arts. I started piano lessons and dance when I was 5 years old, and have studied both ever since then.

Upon graduation from The University of Birmingham with an honours degree in Music, I began teaching immediately and studied for a PGCE-Masters in Education, specialising in Music, Drama and Dance.

Creativity plays a big role in what I do; I love writing shows and ballets, I create all my own teaching materials, composing the music, thinking of ways to make lessons inspiring, engaging and relevant... it makes every day different, and I really enjoy teaching, watching my students learn, progress, grow, and enjoy the arts themselves!

My main qualifications and interests cover piano, saxophone, clarinet, flute and singing, plus ballet, tap, contemporary dance and drama.

I've taught in schools (primary and secondary) and taught privately for 18 years, 12 of which have been in Cornwall. Previously known as JDM Academy based in St Agnes, I've run my own music, dance and drama classes for hundreds of different students across Cornwall.
